A 79-place day nursery located in Plaistow Park in a large building formerly known as 'The Play Barn'. The 'Academy' is a joint-venture between Foundations for Learning and Newham College of Further Education. The Area Operations Manager, responsible for all our nursery operations in Newham, is based on this site.

There are two very large nursery rooms on the ground floor, one for Pre School and one for Explorers and Toddlers. On the upper floor, there is a room for Babies with its own separate Sleep Room, kitchenette, and nappy-changing area. There is also a training room, where College courses on Childcare and Early Childhood Studies are taught, with it's own access separate from the nursery.

The nursery has a very large 'parkland' outside play area, which is scheduled for further development this year. Babies and Toddlers have their own separate outside play area.

Meals and snacks are prepared and frozen off-site by Yum Yum Foods Ltd, working to menu guidelines prescribed by a consultant nutritionist and dietitian with a Masters degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. Meals are then defrosted and prepared to strict guidelines by staff on-site. Our success in weaning babies onto healthy eating has led to parent demand for Yum Yum's nutritious frozen meals to be made available for them to take home when they collect their child and this facility is now available.
