Your child and nursery carer

Before they start nursery, your child will be assigned a Personal Carer, who will work with you to help your child settle in.

The Personal Carer will be responsible for every aspect of your child's welfare and development at nursery:

  • Making and recording observations to record your child's progress
  • Updating your child's Book of Achievement
  • Reviewing your child's progress with you and discussing and agreeing their Individual Learning Plans

Over time, as your child grows, develops and finds their feet, they will progress through the nursery from one room to another.

The move to a more senior room will be carefully managed, including a gradual transition in the role of their Personal Carer.

After the change from babyhood to becoming a toddler, the role of the Personal Carer will focus increasingly on the encouragement of independence - from feeding oneself and potty training to the freedom to choose which activities they want to pursue during periods of 'continuous provision'.

We operate well-equipped, comfortable nursery day centres across two regions in England.
